Happy New Year to all! After a little post-Christmas break, I’m all set to reflect on 2010, to set some goals for the New Year and to give my blog a little facelift.
I’ve never really been one to make New Year's resolutions. ‘Exercise more’ and similar aspirations I’ve given myself are conveniently forgotten after several weeks or so. I am however a planner and a list maker and I think reflecting on various aspects of one’s life is a good practice to get into and so here is my little list of things I’d like to achieve in 2011…
- Finally complete Grace’s ‘First Year’ photo album
- Begin a ‘cooking club’ with friends (more on this in a future post)
- Be pregnant
- Improve my photography skills through lots of practice
- Implement some of what I learnt from the Blogging Your Way course I participated in
- Learn to crochet
- Give myself some ‘non-Mummy time’ occasionally such as going out to tea with a friend or strolling around the shops minus a stroller
What is the main thing you’d like to achieve or are looking forward to in 2011?

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you hon..and I like your list...and didnt know you were ready for bubs number two...so cute for little Grace to have a little brother or sister to hang out with...I suppose I should be thinking about the same for Jacq..who knows what the year will bring hey :)
ReplyDeleteLove to hear more about the cooking club..sounds like a delicious idea ; ) xxx
love the new look, Amanda! Also loving your goals for the year and can totally relate to the needing more non-mummy time!! I've already broken mine: not swearing (broke that within an hour of getting up this morn), not drinking fizzy drink (but that half-empty bottle was screaming to be finished!) and not eating junk food (does chocolate and musk sticks count as 'junk'? Heres to the year ahead!! xo
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo love the make over. I think you are very clever to get those little button thingys. I am sure you will have fun with your list. As for the crochet bit, I am loving the royal sisters blog and attic 24. Lots of easy ideas and you tube is fab for demonstrating stitches. Go for it. Deb
ReplyDeleteYour makeover looks fabulous Amanda! I think your list of "want to achieves" is definitely do-able and just think how great you will feel at the end of the year when you can tick them all off! I'm just looking forward to surrounding myself with lots of positive and creative people - just like you and FINALLY getting to the top of my mountain. Wish me luck! ;)Sharyne
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Amanda and I wish you all the best with your list. I plan to do a list too - one that is truly achievable. I like to cross things off as they are done. I love the look of your blog and must try some of those too. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda Loving your new look, both with your layout and your profile pic - you're a star! Good for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting list. For *once* in five years, your 3rd point isn't on my list ☺. Your 1st point is most pressing - I have to catch up on the last two years for Joshie and India and the last one for Sam!
I would really be interested to read about the BYW course - I'm on her email list waiting for the next one to come up. It must have been fascinating.
And as for your last point, I'm hearing you in Hobart, loud and clear. Wishing you the best of British, Sweetie.
I'm so blessed to have found you in the vastness of Blogland this year. J x
Hi Amanda, Happy new year!! I will have my fingers crossed for all of your dreams and aspirations for the year ahead!! Especially the pregnant part!!
ReplyDeleteFunny you should say that you wanted to crochet; I do too! It is definently on my `to do` list for the year. I have already tried a little and watched a few tutorials on youtube, need to practice a whole lot more!!!
