Laptop Blogging
Up until now, my computer time was limited as whenever I wanted to blog or browse the Internet, I had to shut myself in the study to do so. This meant Grace could get up to no good while I wasn't watching her and I therefore only tended to use the computer while she napped. With a new baby on the way very soon, we decided that it would be a good idea to get a laptop, an inexpensive simple one that I could use mainly for writing emails or blogging which we could use around the house. That way, Grace could be playing happily and I could keep my eye on bub while still using the computer.
On the weekend, we made a purchase and I must say, I'm so glad we did. As I type this post, I am sitting outside at our patio table while Grace is next to me digging in her sandpit. Last night she came down with a cold (which I'm crossing my fingers I don't catch) and while she lay exhausted on the lounge this morning resting, I was able to sit next to her, and catch up on a few blog posts. I am loving the convenience and flexibility of a laptop.
On a side note, I had my 38 week appointment this morning and bub is still head down since the 'turning procedure' and looking very comfortable. I'm hoping that he or she stays put for the next two weeks now.
Also, sorry for the late giveaway draw but the winner of my fabric bunting which was drawn using a Random Number Generator (sorry I have no idea how to include the graphic in this post, you'll just have to trust that I'm an honest person) is... #2 Sonia of Raine and Sage... I'll be in touch Sonia to get your details.

ReplyDeleteYou will love having a laptop Amanda it's so convenient being able to move around the house with it. I got one earlier this year and I love the flexibility of moving about and also having it to myself is a bit of a treat especially since the big girl uses the home computer so much now. I'm so glad everything went well with the check up today, only 2 weeks to go! Take care and I hope Grace feels better soon too. xx

ReplyDeleteSounds like it is getting close!! How exciting. Good luck with it all and good job getting that laptop. well done....
ReplyDeleteSo great Amanda, it sounds like it is exactly what you need at a time when you should be taking it as easy as you can! I don't have a lap top and sometimes feel like I'm going cross eyed with the iphone so I'm thinking a ipad could be good, completely indulgent however! I hope you are feeling great, thinking about you : )

So soon to b-day! Hope you're still feeling well and don't catch Grace's cold. Yay for laptop and bub possie. Everything crossed that he/she stays that way :)
ReplyDeleteJane - We got a very basic laptop which is all I need as we've still got the home computer - ours is an hpPavilion dv4.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that the little baby is still in a good position. Am sure he/she has got the hang of the heads down business now and will stay that way :)
ReplyDeleteThe felt pom pom garland is such a goodie. Looks good draped over anything! I bought it from a little shop in Canberra (the owner is lovely and I'm sure if you rang her she'd post it for you - the style emporium) but I noticed that you can also buy online from the suppliers:

Can't remember paying $40 for it though.....whoops! Am sure it's much much cheaper to make yourself!
Little aqua blanket was passed down from K's Mum - and the wooden rainbow was a gift from a friend - think she got it from here:

Take care, lovely - and enjoy these last few days/weeks pottering about the home. Thinking of you too. x
Oooh you are so close to having baby. How exciting. I am sorry I haven't been over here for a while. I am going to stalk you now. A-M xx
ReplyDeleteThinking of you Amanda, not long to go now xx
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous! Have a wonderful day, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteAmanda, I'm so happy for you that you have a laptop now!! Good decision!! I move around my house with my laptop just like some people do with their cup of coffee. :P Needless to say I love my laptop. Your'e at 38th week!! Woohoo! You're almost there! We are expecting, too. (Haven't written about it on my blog yet) I'm at 18th, so I'm half way behind you. The next 5 months look so long to me and I don't know how my body can develop since I already feel big and uncomfortable. You're in my thoughts. xo Kaho
