On My Table
On Friday night, one of my best friends Kylie gave me a belated birthday present which I absolutely love. It is a gorgeous Willow pattern teacup and saucer which has been recycled into a soy candle and it smells absolutely divine. It has found its new home on our kitchen table along with some flowers still going strong from the other night.
I love that this candle has been fashioned from something someone no longer wanted or needed. It's wonderful that people can find creative uses to reuse old bits and pieces. Do you own something that has been 'recycled' in a similar way or been adapted to find a new use?

It's great! Will you use it? I am hopeless at burning my candles as I like the look of them :)
ReplyDeleteThose lisianthus blooms are just stunning!
X
Amanda, that's so lovely! I also love the lisianthus you have in the vase. Great colours. I think they're my fav flower to have in the house because they last and last
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely gift...Its a great idea isnt it..have always thought about learning how to make my own candles..would love to use this idea with some old odd glasswear I have that I can bring myself to throw out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea. I saw a pretty cup at the oppie the other day but didn't really have a use for it so I left it there. I adore lisianthus.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely photo of a lovely gift - lucky you! Those flowers have lasted well- they are beautiful in their simple jar.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of repurposing. What a lovely gift! I too am a lisinanthus fan!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous gift Amanda
ReplyDeleteI have a bit of a thing for little tea cups and bought a black and white striped one on a tray for $4 at the op shop the other day, I've got it in my study with scissors in the cup.
I also have a fun idea when I move my fish tank into the dining area I'm thinking about putting old tea cups and saucers in the tank for them to swim around, being in the kitchen I thought that theme would work well :)
What a lovely gift and one that you will be able to re-use time and time again. Perfect! ;)Sharyne

ReplyDeleteThat's so lovely Amanda, wonderful gift, what fragrance is the candle? I love that you can recycle little teacups like this, there is a wonderful shop at salamanca here that sells soy candles in fowlers vacola jars, I'm yet to invest in one but they are on my list.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful birthday present! I love the idea that you can use the cup afterwords :)
