My Creative Space
I've finally found a little project to keep my hands busy at night whilst curled up on the couch watching television. It's a little cross-stitch piece I'm making for Grace's room which I'll reveal more of when I'm finished.
As a young girl, I used to love doing cross stitch and long stitch embroidery. In fact, I think my Mum still has a framed long stitch piece of mine hanging in her hallway.
What craft projects have you been working on this week?

I've been working on a cross stitch piece on and off for the past 4 years. It is big and complicated and way, way beyond my experience, so I only pick it up once or twice a year. At my current speed, it should be finished in... about 60 odd years.
ReplyDeleteI've recently decided to have a go at knitting and crochet. So far, I've managed some basic wonky bits :) It't lots of fun though.
Can't wait to see yours finished :) Have a great weekend, Amanda.
cross stitch was a favourite of mine as a child as well!! so far it looks like a crocodile with a really big pelican beak lower jaw. yes, i'm sure that's what it is supposed to be...
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda, you are pretty clever! I did one piece a long time ago and it took me forever!! Then when I was finished i realised i had done it all wrong but it looked ok. Although I have never been brave enough to try another one!!
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend,
Laura xx
This is ging to be very sweet Amanda. I look forward to seeing Garce's decorated room.
ReplyDeleteI know I started some embroidery once but never finished it.
No craft projects for me this week. I've had the whole week off work but it has been a nightmare trying to get my craft room finished. Well, I'm off to paint...
Have a great weekend Amanda x
I've been so busy this week I haven't had time to begin any of the crafts I have on my to-do list, but I did go shopping looking for some new fabric to cover my ottoman. I found a gorgeous one at Ikea but it was out of stock and not in for about 2 weeks! I'm also hoping to make some new cushions for our lounge room. Looking forward to seeing your finished cross-stitch!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend Amanda. xx
Hi Amanda. I love doing a bit of craft. Used to cross stitch a LOT when the kids were little...they were nice enough to take long naps! There's always a craft of some kind going on here...which may be my problem...not getting any of them completely finished. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so curious about what you are cross-stitching there Amanda, I look forward to seeing more. Oh and I love your cream blanket too! I finished my red scarf today so I'm quite chuffed with myself, I'm a notorious non-finisher of projects : ) Hope you are having a wonderful weekend, it is wet wet wet here!
ReplyDeleteWish I had your patience - looking forward to seeing what it is you are creating. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Michelle
ReplyDeleteI've just read your last few posts, I love the way you quite often end them with an interesting question. I think I'd like to try embroidery one day, but perhaps I should learn to sew first..We've got some gorgeous pink and white camellias here at the moment too..Rachaelxx
ReplyDeleteI love cross stitch too Amanda. I cannot wait to see yours when it is finished. Enjoy that lovely quiet time being creative. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Hugs ~ Tina xx
ReplyDeletelooking forward to seeing how this comes out!
ReplyDeleteI love cross stitch it's such a beautiful craft but one that requires lots of time and patience. I'm still working on one that I started 2 years ago, I think it's just a bit too big for me and just overwhelming that I haven't got it out of the cupboard in a while. I look forward to seeing what you're creating for Grace. xo
