Friday Already?

Where has this week flown?  It's been blue skies and sunshine here today so the girls and I whipped out the picnic rug at lunchtime and ate outside together.  Apart from a quick trip to Spotlight, we've just been pottering around the house, tidying and doing odd-jobs.

This afternoon, I have a bit of cooking planned - a chicken and sweet potato number for Sophie, curry for our tea and a Jamie Oliver chicken pie for tomorrow night.  As per usual, I'll have too many dishes on the go at once but I just realised I have chicken I have to use sooner rather than later so I have no choice.

As for the weekend, I'm hoping to...
  • sew a cushion cover with a cute white bobble trim for Sophie's room
  • get Paul to hang some things I've made this week to decorate our front porch
  • practice some photography (as I haven't taken as many shots as usual lately)
  • start reading a book I bought recently called Simplicity Parenting

What about you?  How is your weekend looking?

  1. It looks like lots of fun having a picnic for lunch, such beautiful weather you've had today, the sun shone here too which was lucky with a washing line full of sheets and towels to dry:) Enjoy your weekend I like the sound of what you've got planned, you'll have to show and tell:) The only plan so far is for hubby and Miss 12 to do some bbqing for Guides on Sunday, hopefully some gardening and craft for me. Have a wonderful weekend. xx

  10. I'm with you, this week has indeed flown! I've got a quiet weekend ahead, no real plans at all at this point but I'm looking forward to pottering around at home. Plenty of things on my list to do if I locate some energy to do them!

Looking forward to seeing what you made for your front porch!

  11. Hmm, after an early start to watch the Olympics Opening Ceremony, we have a 10.30 am soccer match for Joshie tomorrow, followed by haircuts for the boys. I'll visit the Mothers' Market, alone - bliss! I haven't thought any further than that. I agree with Em - please show us the cushion when you've finished. J x
