The Wonderful World Of Online Shopping

Once upon a time, a package at our front door was a rarity.  These days, it isn’t uncommon.  I’m by no means a shopaholic, in fact, I’m quite the opposite.  It’s just that with two little ones, shopping without having to leave home is SO convenient.

Here are some purchases I’ve made online in recent weeks…

…a hand stamped keyring from Brag About It as a treat for myself (although it’s so pretty I’m now contemplating hanging it from a chain as a necklace instead) …

…a pair of teacups and saucers from Etsy seller Turtle andDove – I bought one set and loved it so much, I ordered the second one too…

…Peppa Pig jigsaw puzzles for Grace – initially I bought her a set of simpler ones.  However, these quickly became too easy and so last week, I bought the ‘nine in one’ set of 12, 24, 35 and 50 piece puzzles – the perfect challenge for wintery ‘stuck indoors’ days!

… and I finally bought those adorable Beehive Kitchenware bird measuring spoons I’ve admired for so long with some birthday money I'd been given.  Guess what job is at the top of my list for Paul to do tomorrow?

Also, not worth a photo but worthy of a mention is Kitchenware Direct.  Following my mother-in-law's recommendation, I bought a new stick blender from their website when the motor on our old one went a few weeks back.  Not only was it WAY cheaper than any of the stores I'd looked at, it arrived on our doorstep only two days later!

Are you a fan of online shopping?  Which purchases have you made lately?  Do you have any online stores to recommend?

  1. Amanda, I absolutely love Kitchenware Direct. They are awesome!!

Lovely purchases by the way. I love on-line shopping...so much to choose from and you don't have to leave your home. Perfect!

  2. I love that keyring/necklace. What a pretty keepsake.

Since having my babies, I'm a big fan of online shopping. I find that I'm much more considered because I don't feel as if I'm in a hurry. I recently brought some breastfeeding tops from maternalove and leggings and cardigan from lululemon as a treat for myself. And some bonds gear for the girls and a bumbo off gumtree. Oh, and a Shanna Murray decal. Eeek...it reads like I'm a shopaholic. Honestly, I'm not at all.

  3. Kitchenware Direct is great, they are in Perth that's why it is so quick. And most of their stuff is cheaper, I got my kitchenaid from there, free deliver and $100 or so cheaper than anywhere else, plus I didn't have to lug it from the shops to the car!

I checked out beehive kitchenware when I got home and I've added the cute little bird hanging hook to my birthday list, I've been looking for a nice hook to hang my oven mitts from.

Most of my online shopping is done on etsy lately. Most recently I bought some laser cut wooden numbers for putting on my next clock!

  4. I love the keyring, I'm going to have a look at the site because I wanted to find something similar, thanks for sharing :)
I have 3 children under 5 so almost ALL my shopping is online shopping. My most recent purchase was a gorgeous handmade leather journal with the tree of life etched into the cover from an eBay seller. It was a well received gift for a very good friend.

    1. Yes I do an online Coles order once a month, a big bulk buy up of tinned items, toiletries, cleaning supplies etc. I still buy my fresh stuff like meat and fruit and vegetables each week though.

  7. What a nice keyring - I agree it would make a very nice pendant. I remember you liking those measuring spoons for a long while so it's nice to see you bought them.
I love online shopping - I probably do it more than regular shopping. I recently bought a couple of things (handbag and scarf) in the net-a-porter sale. I am waiting on books from Fishpond. I bought funky bedlinen off Ebay at a fraction of the price of retail and of course I adore Etsy!

  11. Oh the measuring spoons, i actually thought at first they had your names on them too!! That i a key ring, it's stunning, a necklace for sure, glorious. I'm still trying to find the right kind of stamped name necklace (with 4 children, not so subtle) & i love their middle names too, hmmm, i don't want to look like i'm wearing a Christmas decoration. 13. You've bought some lovely pieces Amanda. The keyring with your family's name stamped on it is really pretty. I haven't bought much online lately but at Christmas time I seem to buy quite a bit, I much rather do it at home than all the walking around the shops these days. xx

  15. Wow, you are a good shopper! I love all of those buys. The keyring is exquisite, I might get something like that for my husband for Fathers Day. I'll put him on to Kitchenware Direct too, being the Masterchef that he is, he would love it. Have a great weekend.. Rachael xx
