Thankful

Paul has been away since Monday on a boys’ camping trip, so it’s been a ‘girlie week’ for us here in our little household. He’s due back in four hours and every time Grace hears a car door out in the street or Asha barking, she runs to the window squealing “Daddy!!” Very cute.

This week I’ve been thankful for several things:

…my Mum and mother-in-law each staying over one night to keep me company and help out with Grace.

…a lovely ‘care package’ arriving in the mail from the organiser of the playgroup I take Grace to – it was thoughtfully filled with goodies for Mums to indulge in some ‘me’ time.

…all the suggestions from my readers on ideas for my Cooking Club – I’m even more excited than before to get this started now.

…my sister-in-law passing on a delicious recipe for a Chicken Nicoise Salad – the perfect meal for hot summer nights.

…the fact that no casualties have been reported from the terrifying Cyclone Yasi – I was glued to the television on Wednesday night, watching in disbelief as yet another natural disaster hit poor Queensland.

Keeping all those affected by the cyclone in my thoughts and wishing everyone else a wonderful weekend ahead…

  9. Hi Amanda,
So glad you have had the love and support from your mum and mil too whilst being a single mum for the week -it makes such a difference.

My husband has jetted off o/s for week for 2 weeks however I am so lucky that my mum is over from Melbourne to visit so has been a great support - Sophie started big girl kindy this week and just like Grace, she is missing her Daddy too.

I also received the news that I didn't want this week - our landlord is selling the house so I am back looking for a new home for us during our life here in Perth!!! However in the big scheme of things, I shouldn't complain as there is so much hardship throughout or glorious country.

All the best for a wonderful weekend.

    Christine xo

  13. Christine - that's lucky you have your Mum over at the moment to help you out with Sophie. What a pain you have to start house-hunting again! Hope Sophie's first few days at kindy went smoothly :)

  15. Its always refreshing having some time away from your love, makes you appreciate them that little bit more when they're around. Even if it means picking up their smelly socks and finding beer caps everywhere .... or is that just me! Enjoy your weekend x
