Energised And Motivated

Today I am feeling energised. My weekend was a lovely one- I was able to pop to Spotlight for a little browse, got lots of washing done, made chocolate brownies (packet ones) and painted with Grace, had afternoon tea with some visitors and yesterday, the four of us had a little picnic lunch at a park. Grace was well behaved – obliging, helpful and happy. As for Sophie, apart from the usual unsettled periods in the evenings, she slept fairly well and was easier to resettle when needed. She even gave me the luxury of a few longer blocks of sleep which I appreciated.

Perhaps it’s the made up sleep which has put me in such a good mood and got me all enthusiastic or perhaps it’s the warmer weather Perth has been experiencing but I’m really eager to do things. I have lots of blog posts I want to write. I want to try some new healthy recipes using seasonal fruit and vegetables. I’m itching to start decorating the nursery and to sort through all the lovely clothes and other gifts we’ve received for Sophie. I’m keen to get out in the garden (Paul will laugh at that one as he jokes it’s been nine months since I’ve done any gardening). I want to go on picnics and enjoy the sunshine. I want to start getting organised for Christmas.

What do you feel more keen to do when the warmer weather hits or when you’re in a more upbeat mood than usual?

  2. It's been lovely here lately, though I am grateful for the drop in mercury today :)

Getting more sleep definitely makes a huge difference to the way you feel, don't overdo it though.

  6. Tammi - I've enjoyed the cooler change today too. I think I jinxed myself with this post as Sophie has been unsettled all afternoon and I haven't achieved anything :)

  7. Oh the weather certainly lifts your spirits!! Even just having the washing dry & garden spring to life, the smell of Summer is so delicious!! I know the children are happier too, any hint of swimming & they are humming.
As for babies, i was uber lucky that my 4 all started sleeping 12 hours a night from 3 weeks, that was it, like forever, although now i have to get my teen out of bed with a crowbar. Hmmm. I do well with minimal sleep, so imagine how cruisey i found babies??!! I loved it so much, those late night breast feeds, just me & my baby or twins, ahhhh. Love Posie

  8. Posie - you lucky duck!!! 12 hours from 3 weeks??? I think Sophie would be a more settled sleeper if it wasn't for all the wind pain she's getting from my gushing breastmilk. I actually don't mind the late night feeds either, it's the crying spells around teatime that I find hard - an unconsolable baby really distresses me! :)

  11. There's the little darling, she's so gorgeous! I'm happy to hear you're feeling good at the moment. Sleep deprivation can really knock you around! The warmer weather is lovelier, isn't it? I think it makes me feel like gardening more than anything. Rachaelxx

  12. It's such a wonderful feeling being energised and ready to get things done. I'm glad you've been getting some more sleep and so are feeling better and getting a chance to do fun little things for yourself. I think I feel keen when the mood hits, the weather can make me feel a little drained at times. The afternoon is my favourite time to get outside, perfect temperature and not that hot sun beating down. I hope you are having a wonderful week and that you are getting lots of fun things done. xo
