Patio Plants

Image from here

I’ve always loved the courtyard in the photo above. I love the way the greenery contrasts so beautifully with the brickwork. I’m hoping to make it to the nursery tomorrow to buy some plants for our newly paved patio. I’ve already bought a beautiful pale blue hydrangea and now I’m after something with white flowers. Will post some ‘after’ pics of our patio soon. Hope you all have a great start to the weekend.

  1. Looking forward to seeing the pics. I just planted a bed of hydrangea cuttings today! Lovely and old fashioned! I also like brickwork in the garden, not so much when said brickwork is buried under soil like I discovered out the back today - Oh my tired back!!
PS thanks for comments re wreath, it was dead easy to make, but did take tonnes of ribbon. I just cut 10-12cm lengths and pinned them in loops to a foam ring! Easy :)

  2. Cant wait to see them...Im in a dilemma at the moment as to how to jazz up our veranda...very blank space at the moment and not very tranquil..perhaps your garden may inspire me to get my into gear :) x

  3. Sarah - I adore hydrangeas - they always look so lush and green and have such pretty blooms. Hope you've had a relaxing night after working in the garden today!

Anna- are the Adirondack chairs you won on Ebay for your verandah? It would be lovely to have a verandah to sit back and relax on. Will have to make do with our patio :)

  4. That courtyard is so gorgeous. The brickwork too, is amazing.

  5. You're right - it is beautiful. All the colours work so wonderfully together. I love the charcoal on the gate and fence - this is the same colour I used for our gate and front door. I'm looking forward to seeing your patio photos. Hope you're having a lovely weekend. Leigh

  6. Hi Amanda,
Thanks for dropping by my blog. Yours is very cool. I want to make the Malteser cookies and potato salad ASAP

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment - it really makes my day!!
