Today is my husband Paul’s birthday. Being a work day, we got up bright and early to give him his gifts which included a card Grace made for him and a ‘birthday bag’ she had decorated containing his gifts. Inside the card, we included a little interview which I found on Bianca’s blog. It was a great way for Grace to put into words her thoughts on her Daddy.
Tonight we are going out for an early meal and will then come home to sing ‘happy birthday’ and enjoy a piece of the chocolate cake Grace and I made earlier in the day. It's got lashings of chocolate buttercream on top and has been carefully sprinkled with hundreds and thousands by my little helper.
We've also been working on some Easter gifts today. Grace has been colouring in Easter eggs (the free printable you can see below is available from Style Me Gorgeous) and we packaged up the rocky road we made yesterday with some cute bunny bag toppers which you can download from Skip To My Lou.
All that's left to do now is wait for the Easter bunny to arrive!
That interview is so cute and I love the Easter printables! Happy Birthday Paul :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Paul and love the interview idea! Definitely going to copy you and Bianca on that one. x
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Paul, I hope he has had a great day so far. I love how you get Grace so involved in everything Amanda, you are so thoughtful and organised. xx
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, Paul was only saying last night as we were singing 'happy birthday' how when you're a parent, your birthday celebration becomes all about your kids and the joy they receive from helping you celebrate :)
Deletehappy birthday Paul, you are blessed with a wonderful wife and children.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment Jane xx
Deletevery sweet, happy birthday to your man :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Amanda! Wish Paul a happy birthday from over here in Melbourne. Hope it was a lovely day for him and I'm sure Grace had a terrific time too!

happy birthday to your husband! you are soooo good to make cake!
ReplyDeleteWhen we popped to the shops in the morning, I did re-think my decision as we passed Miss Maud's but I'd already promised Grace so making a cake became our priority for the day :)
DeleteHappy birthday Paul. It sounds like you made his day very special Amanda and I think the interview is such a lovely idea and in years to come will be sweet to look back on and read for you and for Grace. I love the easter crafting you've been busy doing and Grace is such a lovely helper, what a little sweetie. xx
ReplyDeleteWhat great birthday ideas, and happy birthday to Paul. We always make a special effort for birthdays. It's nice to celebrate milestones, create traditions.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad the Easter bunny arrives tomorrow. Due to all the eggs in the shops since January, it seems I've been questioned for an eternity as to "when" the Easter Bunny will come?!!!! It will then be September when the Santa questions begin... ha! x
Happy Birthday to Paul.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful Easter weekend Amanda. xx
lots of crafty goodness at your place!
