"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week in 2013"...
Sophie: Yoghurt covered lips, gazing out the window, mesmerised by the mudlarks and honey eaters in the garden as she eats her lunch. Those tight curls at the back of her head have been springing out from behind her ears all week due to the heat and humidity.
Grace: My big girl and her 'first day of kindy creation.' I felt sad when the teacher told me there had been tears at lunchtime, but as we walked home yesterday and chatted about her day, Grace insisted the tears were simply because she was exhausted. "I was just SO tried Mummy," she told me.
Sophie and those big blue eyes and curls, so so cute and the light on her face is lovely in this photo. Oh poor little thing, she sounds so mature Amanda to be able to convey her feelings so well to you. I hope she had a big sleep last night and feels better today. xx
ReplyDeleteIt's such a long day for little ones, especially on the first day... 8.40 to 3.10!! No wonder she was exhausted, she's still be having naps all week :)
DeleteThat crown! And yogurt covered face, so glorious! Your little ones are too cute xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Ruby!! Grace looked so tiny standing at the door of her classroom with that crown on her head and over-sized polo shirt when I picked her up yesterday afternoon :)
DeleteARGH!! "I was just SO tired, Mummy." SO cute! :D your little girls are just beautiful Amanda! So photogenic too :) Going to be just as gorgeous as their mum when they're older.

ReplyDeleteYour girls look so much like you, Amanda. They have the most beautiful eyes. x
ReplyDeleteBaby blues are gorgeous! Especially love Sophie's dreamy look. Three of my kids loved naps at pre-school, it's a strange time of adjustment, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteOh little Grace. So brave in the face of big change. Isn't it true that as a parent your heart can break in a million pieces every day (but in the most beautiful way)? x
ReplyDeleteps. this is a silly thing to say, but I just love the word mudlark!
Awww bless her!!! So proud of Grace for surviving her first few days of Kindy!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love how alike Ryder and Sophie are! Those curls!!!!!
