"A portrait of my children once a week, every week in 2013"

Last Wednesday, the girls and I spent the loveliest of mornings at our beloved spot by the river. The water was ever so calm, the sky beautifully overcast and not a wisp of a breeze was to be found... perfect for a picnic and play...

Sophie: Ever the adventurer, keen to explore the water's edge independently... glancing back now and then though to check that I was still watching

Grace: Aspiring artist, happily sketching away on her sandy canvas

This shot of sweet little Liam and this photo of adorable Olive were among my favourites from last week's portraits.

  1. That is such a cute photo of Sophie standing out there looking at the water. Drawing in the sand is so much fun and sand is such beautiful canvas to draw on. Looks like a lovely spot to visit with your girls. xx

  4. What a nice place to be, Amanda. I can see an old paddle boat in the background, looking all atmospheric and stuff. Just gorg!

I love the filter you've used here too. x

  7. what a lovely spot...we've been so lucky with the nice weather lately -- not too hot in the mornings but nice enough to play until lunch. and there's something about sand and a backdrop of water that makes kids think there's so much to do!

  9. Ohhh that's one of my favourite spots in all of Perth! Love going for a walk with my mum, taking the dog for a sneaky swim, or going for a blood-pumping jog up that hill :) I have always meant to go down there one day and take some beautiful photos for my house. I didn't know the paddle boat was called Rodney! :)
