Bump Update: 31 weeks
I find it hard to believe that already, I find myself at the 31 week point of this pregnancy. With Grace, everything seemed to drag on. This time around, I'm feeling the weeks fly by. I'm at a point now where I'm so eager to meet our new baby and am feeling more relaxed about everything although I do find the thought of there only being nine weeks to go a bit frightening.
Physically, I'm feeling more energetic than ever. From my first obstetrician appointment until now, I've put on six kilos. I've been fortunate that apart from the usual negative pregnancy symptoms (heartburn, indigestion, leg cramps, rib-cage discomfort) everything has been going smoothly. However, I did lie in bed the other night feeling contractions (presumably Braxton-Hicks contractions) wondering whether I would be going into labour early, especially as I'd had a dream the night before that our baby arrived ten weeks prematurely!!
I've started sorting through Grace's old baby clothes and feel as though progress is slowly happening in the nursery. Any neutral coloured 0000 and 000 sized clothes are being washed and put into the drawers and anything girlie or pink is being put aside in a crate for now. Our old bed base finally sold on Gumtree so the cot is in position (although we'll be using a bassinette in our bedroom for the early months). Now comes the fun part of decorating the room which I'll be sure to keep you up to date with...

You look amazing, Amanda. Glad it's all going smoothly - can't wait to see the bedroom, I love decorating kids rooms the most!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the rest of your pregnancy - the labour is much easier second time round!
~Sam
Thanks Sam :) I'm crossing my fingers this labour will be different to the last - I was induced with Grace and am hoping I will go into labour by myself this time, although I also don't want to go too far over 40 weeks!! :)
ReplyDeleteGosh I can't believe how quickly that time has gone! You look fantastic. Such an exciting time for you all. Looking forward to seeing the decorating. ;)Sharyne

Look at you. You look absolutely beautiful. There's not too much lovelier than a baby bump :)
ReplyDeleteSonja - my bump is definitely a different shape to last time, definitely more pointy. Not sure that means anything though as I've heard of women who have carried differently and still had both girls or both boys.
ReplyDeleteEmma - 6kg is since my first appointment at 10 weeks, I've probably gained a bit more all up. In saying that, I only put on 13 kg with Grace.
Janette - believe me I feel like a whale!! I will post some more bump pics closer to the end of this trimester :)
Oh Amanda! How utterly gorgeous. You look fabulous, my friend. And I adore the excitement in Gracie's eyes. Priceless. J x
