Quote For Today
I don’t who the quote below belongs to or where I found it, but I think it’s a good one…
“Always be thankful for what you have, no matter how little. For there will always be someone who dreams to have what you've got”
It reminds me of something my Dad used to always say to me, that there’s always someone in a better position than you and always someone worse off. It’s important to count our blessings no matter how small they may seem. It is for this reason I try hard not to focus on the hiccups and little things that annoy me and instead, try to find the positive wherever I can in my days.
Today I am grateful for…
… Grace keeping herself occupied so I could prepare dinner. The steamed vegetables and cauliflower cheese are ready in the fridge and I have corned beef simmering away in the slow cooker. It will be nice to be able to use my usual meal preparation time this afternoon to have some fun with Grace instead.
… having fresh flowers in our home. I bought the bunch above at the shops on Monday and it really is nice to see something pretty fill the space on the corner of our bench.
… being able to look down at my nicely filed and painted nails. I’ve been hunting for the perfect natural shade of nailpolish for a while (not too pink, too white or too transparent) and finally found it at Witchery over the weekend. It’s called Pale Peony and with two coats plus a top coat, it’s lasting beautifully.
… finally having stitched into strips the 169 squares for Grace’s quilt (after much unpicking and adjusting). I now have to sew the 13 rows together but it’s lovely seeing progress finally happening.
… having lovely blogging friends and readers. Thank you for your kind comments on my last post and ‘bump photos’. You are all so sweet and truly put a smile on my face.
What are you grateful for today?

Oh you totally rock pregnancy, look how glamorous & slim you remain, just "all baby", lucky you!! Ha, i see you're at my blog at the same time, snap!! Are those flowers peonies too?? They look like, what i call, loose roses which is what a peony is to me. I bet they smell fantastic. How exciting, single digit weeks to go before you're a mummy of 2, yay, love Posie
ReplyDeleteThat is a great quote - it's so true :)
ReplyDeleteI love that nailpolish colour. Witchery has only just opened in Hobart so I might have to check it out.
Xx
Lovely quote, and so true. I thank God for so many little things throughout the day ... getting somewhere safely, being healthy, having a good job that I love, being spared during threatening weather (we had a tornado warning recently!), my great husband and our two sweet dogs. Life is good indeed.

I do love that quote too, I agree it is so important to remember to appreciate everything that you do have and not to think about what you don't have. I hope you had fun with your little girl this afternoon, it's nice to know dinner is cooking and you have some time to relax and play. Your nails do look lovely. I really like the colour. Have a wonderful Wednesday. xo
ReplyDeleteI remember trying to find that perfect polish last year too. I can't tell you how many nude colours I bought trying to find the perfect pink/nude/natural all in one. Looking forward to seeing the quilt progress. I hate unpicking but it's worth it to get it just right.
ReplyDeleteGratitude = lovely... Thanks for the reminder...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blooms and a lovely reminder in the quote. Thanks Amanda. You are looking gorgeous too, love the photos of you and your baby curves.
ReplyDeleteTake care

beautiful quote. thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteIt such a good thing to think that way Amanda because it's so true, I know I always get frustrated by things but then have to step back and stop because it's crazy and most often trivial compared to some people. By the way I'm with Sarah might have to go check out that nail varnish in witchery, I'm trying to limit my visits there : )
ReplyDeletelove this. right now I am thankful that my littles are finally quiet. it's been a long day. xo
